Calimesa Planning issues 86 building permits in 2018

Eighty-six building permits for houses were issued in the 2018 calendar year in Calimesa, along with entitlements to home builders Lennar, DR Horton and Meritage and an amendment to the Summerwind Trails Development Agreement, Planning Manager Kelly Lucia reported to the planning commission at the May 13 meeting.

New Marketplace in Calimesa is moving along

Along with a Stater Bros. store, a 7-Eleven, Starbucks and Supercuts are a few of the other tenants confirmed for the Marketplace at Calimesa, a new commercial shopping center on the west side of Interstate 10.

A Del Taco, Jack in the Box, nail salon, Mountain Mike’s Pizza, West Coast Dental and a car wash were also confirmed by Calimesa Planning Manager Kelly Lucia.

“I think we will have more information in a month or so,” Lucia said, about any further tenants.

Calimesa hires consultants to oversee Summerwind environmental impact report

A professional services agreement with Albert A. Webb Associates and funding agreements with four property owners in the Summerwind Trails development were approved last week by the Calimesa City Council.

Consultants Albert A. Webb Associates will provide supervision of the Summerwind Specific Plan environmental impact report that was approved in May 2005.

Planning Manager Kelly Lucia explained the approximate 2,600 acres of the Summerwind Specific Plan are controlled by six property owners with six different projects.

New Summerwind Trails homes for sale in Calimesa

The model homes at Lennarfeature open space galore.

Calimesa has started to grow. The first few homes at Summerwind Trails, the new development on the west side of Interstate 10, have been purchased and some are expected to be ready for move in by mid-March.

“We don’t waste any time,” said Adam Engleman, new home sales counselor for D.B. Horton at Camellia Pointe, about the completion date of some Phase 1 homes.

Calimesa Planning approves 80 more Summerwind homes

More homes for the Summerwind Trails development were approved last week after Larry Smith recused himself from the Calimesa Planning Commission meeting.

Commissioner Smith recused himself from the Tuesday, Nov. 13, meeting because he ran for an at-large city council seat in the Nov. 6 election. New Calimesa retail center approved by Planning Commission

The Marketplace at Calimesa, a new commercial shopping center on the west side of Interstate 10, was unanimously approved last week by the Calimesa Planning Commission.

The Development Plan Review of the approximate 17-acre center includes a grocery store, drive-through restaurants and fitness center and is located on the northeast corner at Tukwet Canyon Parkway/Cherry Valley Boulevard and Desert Lawn Drive. D.R. Horton and Meritage Homes Acquire Lots in SunCal’s Summerwind Trails Master-Planned Community in Southern California

Calimesa Planning approves next step for Summerwind

After more than a decade, Phase 1 of the Summerwind Trails project appears close to breaking ground after the Calimesa Planning Commission unanimously approved Monday night the Development Plan Review for 246 single-family residential units.

Several resolutions, regarding the Summerwind Trails development, were adopted Monday night by the Calimesa City Council.

Among the July 16 resolutions was one establishing a Community Facilities District (CFD) for Phase 1 of Summerwind Trails, formerly known as Summerwind Ranch and located on the west side of Interstate 10.
