New Marketplace in Calimesa is moving along

Along with a Stater Bros. store, a 7-Eleven, Starbucks and Supercuts are a few of the other tenants confirmed for the Marketplace at Calimesa, a new commercial shopping center on the west side of Interstate 10.

A Del Taco, Jack in the Box, nail salon, Mountain Mike’s Pizza, West Coast Dental and a car wash were also confirmed by Calimesa Planning Manager Kelly Lucia.

“I think we will have more information in a month or so,” Lucia said, about any further tenants.

The Marketplace also includes space for a convenience store with fuel station and sits adjacent to a parcel owned by CVS Pharmacy.

The 17-acre center, located on the northeast corner of Tukwet Canyon Parkway/Cherry Valley Boulevard and Desert Lawn Drive, is part of the Summerwind Trails development, which opened its first model homes in January. At build-out, Summerwind Trails is planned for 3,600 to 3,700 residential units.

The center’s proposed architectural style is consistent with the “California Ranch” design of Summerwind Trails. That design includes hip and gable roofs, and broad overhangs, while the landscaping calls for low to moderate-watering plants.
